Jamie Senger is Around Woodstock’s 2007 Teacher of the Year.  Ms. Senger is the Social Studies teacher for the sixth grade at Florine Dial Johnston Elementary School.  “My sixth grade teacher was a very big influence on me growing up, she brought the lessons to life and I thought that’s what I want to do, influence others and make a difference,” Ms. Senger said.  “I would hope that my greatest contributions or accomplishments in education would be my efforts to develop strong ties and relationships with my students and their families,” she continued.  “My greatest accomplishments are reaching those that are sometimes labeled as “unreachable.”  Each day that my nearly 150 students enter my room, I always tell them I want them to leave my classroom smarter than they were when they entered,” Ms. Senger says.

Ms. Senger’s students are a testimonal that she has fulfilled her goals; here are some of those students comments about their favorite Social Studies teacher — Ms. Jamie Senger.
